What does the "Instruction at expiration" field refer to when I make a term investment in ScotiaConnect?
The "Instruction at Maturity" field indicates what will happen to the money when the selected term expires. This can be:
Capitalization If the principal and interest are not withdrawn at maturity, the amount is automatically reinvested.
Interest credited to chequing account. At maturity, the interest is credited to the chequing account and the principal is automatically reinvested.
Principal and interest are credited to the chequing account. At maturity both principal and interest are credited to the chequing account, with no automatic reinvestment.
IMPORTANT: The transaction types depend on the selected maturity instructions. In order to see all the transaction types, tests must be performed using the different maturity instructions.
