What can live chat help me with?

Scotiabank live chat advisors are available to assist our clients with a variety of everyday banking needs, card services, and troubleshooting issues. The support provided is designed to help make managing your banking simple and efficient.

You can connect with Scotia chat on the app, type in what you’d like help with, and follow the prompts to connect with a live chat advisor from 8 am to 10 pm ET.

To navigate to live chat:

  1. Open the Scotia app and select Search & chat at the top of your home screen
  2. Then select Chat with us
  3. You can choose a topic from the support menu, type a short, direct question, or ask to connect with a live chat advisor

Things that live chat can help you with

Everyday banking

  • Assisting you on how to:
    • Check account balances, view transactions, and access full account history
    • Make bill payments, whether one-time, recurring, or future-dated, as well as requesting payment reversals
    • Delete bill payees from your account
    • Transfer funds with options for one-time or recurring, including reversals
  • Providing Interac e-Transfer support and transaction history
  • Helping you to review declined transactions on your accounts

Cards

Assisting you on how to:

  • Cancel, replace or request a re-issue of your Scotiabank debit card or Scotiabank credit cards (not available for Scotiabank Mastercard credit cards)
  • Enable or disable tap & pay on your Scotiabank debit card
  • Link accounts to your Scotiabank debit card
  • Request temporary Scotiabank debit card limit increases for debit payments, online purchase, and ABM withdrawal limit

Account closures

  • Assisting you on closing eligible chequing or savings accounts
  • Assisting you on select Scotiabank Visa and Scotiabank American Express credit card accounts (some credit card accounts not supported by live chat)

Transaction disputes

Assisting you on how to:

  • Dispute a Scotiabank debit card transaction
  • Dispute a Scotiabank Visa or Scotiabank American Express credit card transaction
