How do I set up 2-step verification?

You can set up or manage 2-step verification (2SV) with your phone number through a pop up in online banking (please follow the prompts), or after sign in.

To set up 2-step text message verification when you sign in to Scotia online banking:

  1. After sign in, select Set up phone number
  2. Add your phone number to receive verification codes, then select Continue
  3. Get a text message or phone call with your verification code
  4. Enter the verification code, then select Complete set up
  5. Select Continue

To set up 2-step verification from the Security and passwords menu in Scotia online banking:

  1. After sign in, select Manage my accounts
  2. Select Security and passwords, then Update security verification method, then Update verification method
  3. Select Set up your phone
  4. Enter your phone number to receive verification codes
  5. Get a text message or phone call with a verification code
  6. Enter the verification code and select Complete set up
  7. Select Continue
