Transfers from RRIFs/LIFs to RRSPs/LIRAs/LRSPs will generate both an income slip for the transferring account and an offsetting contribution slip for the receiving account.

Transfers between accounts due to marriage breakdown may generate tax slips if not made under a decree, order or judgement of a competent tribunal or a written separation agreement.

Transfers between the following accounts do not generate a tax slip if the account are in the same name:

• RSPs and RRIFs
• LIRAs/LRSPs and LIFs/LRIFs
• TFSA
• RESP
• Non-registered accounts
