What foreign exchange rates are used for a Western Union Money Transfer?

The exchange rates are set by Western Union and may be higher or lower than posted Scotiabank rates. Because we act as an agent of Western Union, we are unable to influence these rates.

Several countries have local regulations that do not allow the exchange rate to be fixed at the time the transaction is sent. The exchange rate for transfers sent to these countries will be fixed at the time the receiver picks up the money transfer. The exchange rate may be higher or lower than the estimated exchange rate, depending upon the currency market at the time.
