It’s important to keep your phone number updated to protect your accounts with 2-step text message verification. Here’s how:
- Sign in to Scotia online banking and select Manage my accounts
- Select Security and passwords, then Update security verification method, then Update verification method
- Select Update your phone number
- Select Edit mobile number
- Enter mobile phone number to receive verification codes
- Get a text message with verification code
- Enter verification code online, then select Complete set up
- Select Continue
You can also update your mobile number when you are not signed in to Scotia online banking. Here’s how:
- Select Need help signing in? on the sign in page
- Select I need to update my mobile number used for 2-step verification (2SV)
- Select Continue at the context setting page
- Enter username at the next page
- Answer the security questions successfully
- Enter mobile phone number to receive verification codes
- Get a text message with verification code
- Enter verification code online
- Select Continue
