How do I stop a Cheque in ScotiaConnect?
You can stop one or more cheques using ScotiaConnect.
- Go to Services, Stop Payments, and select Stop Payment Request.
- Fill in the mandatory fields and click ‘Save’. If approval is required, the status will be ‘Pending’ if not it will be ‘Ready’.
- If it is Pending: Have another user select the payment with a checkmark chose ‘Approve’ from the dropdown menu and click ‘Go’.
- If it is ready: Select the payment with a checkmark choose ‘Submit’ from the dropdown menu and click ‘Go’.
ScotiaConnect will not accept Stop Payments for stale dated cheques, cheques with more than 8-digit serial numbers and pre-authorized debits. In this situation contact your Scotiabank Representative.
