You can stop one or more cheques using ScotiaConnect.

1. Go to Services, Stop Payments, and select Stop Payment Request.
2. Fill in the mandatory fields and click ‘Save’. If approval is required, the status will be ‘Pending’ if not it will be ‘Ready’.
3. If it is Pending: Have another user select the payment with a checkmark chose ‘Approve’ from the dropdown menu and click ‘Go’.
4. If it is ready: Select the payment with a checkmark choose ‘Submit’ from the dropdown menu and click ‘Go’.

ScotiaConnect will not accept Stop Payments for stale dated cheques, cheques with more than 8-digit serial numbers and pre-authorized debits. In this situation contact your Scotiabank Representative.
