How do I reset my 2-step verification push notifications if my mobile device is lost, stolen, or I get a new device?

If you get a new mobile device for any reason, you’ll need to deactivate 2SV push notifications on your old mobile device and set it up again on your new one.

You don’t need to have access to your old device to deactivate 2SV.

To deactivate 2SV push notifications:

  1. Go to scotiabank.com and select Sign in
  2. Select Need help signing in?
  3. Select I am not getting 2-step verification (2SV) push notifications
  4. Enter your username or card number and password
  5. If you're prompted to answer security questions, correctly answer the security questions
  6. If you're prompted to enter a verification code, get the verification code we sent to your phone number and enter it
  7. Confirm the device you’d like to remove 2SV from

Once you have a new mobile phone, you can sign in to the Scotia mobile app to activate 2SV again. If you don’t have a new phone or you’re having trouble accessing your account, please give us a call at 1-800-472-6842 so we can help.
