How do I make cross-currency transfers to or from brokerage accounts?

You can make cross-currency transfers to or from brokerage accounts on Scotia OnLine using a two-step-transaction process as follows:

  • To transfer funds from your CAD bank account to the USD side of your brokerage account: First transfer funds from the CAD bank account to the USD bank account. Then perform another transfer from the USD bank account to the USD side of the brokerage account.
  • To transfer funds from your USD bank account to the CAD side of your brokerage account: First transfer funds from the USD bank account to your CAD bank account. Then perform another transfer from the CAD bank account to the CAD side of the brokerage account.

  • To transfer funds from the CAD side of your brokerage account to your USD bank account: First transfer funds from the CAD side of the brokerage account to your CAD bank account. Then perform another transfer from the CAD bank account to the USD bank account.

  • To transfer funds from the USD side of your brokerage account to your CAD bank account: First transfer funds from the USD side of the brokerage account to your USD bank account. Then perform another transfer from the USD bank account to the CAD bank account.
