How do I change my cash account to a margin account?
For Scotia iTRADE customers:
- Complete and sign a Letter of Direction
- Complete a Customer Agreement Form; be sure to fill out and sign the Margin Trading portion of the form
- Complete and sign a Personal and Regulatory Information Update Form
Mail the completed forms to: Scotia iTRADE PO Box 603 Toronto, ON M1K 5C5
For ScotiaMcLeod customers, please contact your advisor.
Please note: Converting your account will take three to five business days, during which time you may not have online access to your security positions. All trading must be seized during this time as securities cannot be moved over until all trades have settled. A credit history review will be conducted as part of the approval process.
