How can I tell if a Scotiabank email is legitimate?
As scammers become more sophisticated, so does fraud. Emails and websites that are not legitimate will almost always:
- Be urgent or threatening
- Ask you to provide sensitive information
Legitimate marketing emails are designed to inform you about a product or service that we think you might be interested in. Scotiabank will never send you unsolicited emails asking for your password, Personal Identification Number (PIN), credit card, account numbers, or any other personal or banking information.
If you receive a suspicious email that claims to be from Scotiabank, forward the email to phishing@scotiabank.com. Please do not change or retype the subject line as this prevents our ability to properly investigate the incident.
