How are maximum loan values established?

Securities regulators in Canada and the U.S. establish maximum loan values that govern the amount financial institutions can make available as a loan. Many times the actual loan may be less than this amount or the loan can be declined based on a variety of risk factors. Long option positions do not generate any loan value. We reserve the right to decrease the loan value of a particular security for any reason at any time.
