Why are security questions being removed?

Security questions are an older way of verifying your identity and are no longer considered as secure as newer verification methods.

Answers to questions like “What is your mother's maiden name?” or “What was the name of your first pet?” can sometimes be guessed, found online, or be difficult to remember.

That's why many banks and financial institutions have moved to stronger forms of verification, such as biometrics and 2-step verification.

These methods provide an added layer of security to help protect your personal and financial information and keep your accounts secure.
