An overlimit amount is the amount shown on your statement when the balance you owe on a credit card or line of credit exceeds the credit limit. If the balance you owe goes over your credit limit, your transactions may be declined, and you may be charged an overlimit fee (unless that fee is prohibited by law). Any overlimit amount must be paid as soon as you receive your statement. The overlimit amount is based on transactions posted to your account as of the statement date and does not include any transactions that haven't been processed to your account as of that date.
