What if I want to switch my mobile device that I receive 2SV push notifications on?
You can switch your primary mobile device anytime. There are two ways to switch your device and it only takes a few minutes.
Option 1
If you still have your device where you are receiving 2SV push notifications and would like to receive push notifications on a new device:
- Sign into the Scotia mobile app on your current device
- Go to the More menu
- Select Sign-in and security
- Select 2-step verification
- Select Deactivate 2SV
- Sign into the Scotia mobile app on your new device
- Select Activate 2SV on the next screen
Option 2
If you don't have your device and you'd like to receive push notifications on a new device:
Go to scotiabank.com and select Sign In
Select Need help signing in?
Select I lost my 2-step verification (2SV) device
Enter your username or card number and password
If you're prompted to answer security questions:
Correctly answer the security questions
Confirm the device you’d like to remove 2SV from
Sign into the Scotia mobile app on your new device
Select Activate 2SV on the next screen
If you're prompted to enter a text message verification code:
Get the verification code from the text message we sent to your mobile device
Enter the verification code
Confirm the device you’d like to remove 2SV from
Sign into the Scotia mobile app on your new device
Select Activate 2SV on the next screen
